Q: What is a “Registered buyer?”
A: Don’t get fooled by intentionally vague or misleading terminology or word spin.
- A “registered” buyer is nothing more than someone who “registered” by filling in a form on a lead generation website. It is NOT necessarily someone who expressed interest in working with a particular Real Estate Agent to help them buy a house. In that case, the person is not a “registered” buyer, they are a client of the Agent/Brokerage.
- Registered buyers therefore are nothing more than names on a list. A client, however, is someone who has entered into a verbal or written agreement with a Realtor® to use their services to find the perfect home for them.
Don’t get duped by word-smiths!
